This is just a bit of fun. The only piece that is skinned is winamp which I made a while back for my website but never released it. The rest is done in Photoshop to only a concept level so is subject to change. Well thought I would put together an idea of what the visual style would look like, if I had any time or idea how to make one.
Please don’t rip it, if you are interested in helping bring this visual style to life or any other ports let me know.
Its an interesting combination of styles. Not sure if I hate it or love it. I do really like what you did with the winamp though. VERY creative for winamp classic. Im very aware of its limitations :)
I think you made a really common problem on the corners of everything, mainly the shite borders. Make sure that the inside curve is a little smaller than the outside curve, or else it'll look a little bit bigger than the rest of the border. Here's something I noticed, as an example:
Outside curve - 10px, border width - 3px, inside border - 7px. I think that's how it does, but that's from (bad) memory. :P Anyway, try that out.
Thanks for the comments guys, have started work on it myself so I can learn how to make a visual style. It may take sometime :-p. If anybody has any good tutorials, templates or what ever please post me.
illegal.. It's sometimes achieved in litestep. It doesn't minimize but if you double click the caption bar it does it. At least it does it for me, until I resize it to a larger screen. And I'm using nika 06 in case it might somehow... be the scripting of that skin
the wood's fine, the blue black doesn't fit. for the winamp don't make that wood border. Make the whole thing wood. The blue black works for under the caption bar but it DOESN'T WORK AT ALL for the start menu. But like i said before it works BEAUTIFULLY on the caption bar ;)
Personally, I don't like the wood being in the caption bar like that. Or maybe it's the white font for the window title, I'm not sure. Something about it just rubs me the wrong way. Other than that, though, I like it quite a bit.
