Smooth Lines in Photoshop 6.0

Okay, so I have a question... I use photoshop 6.0 at home, because its all I have. I've been using it for like 5 years now, and I guess I've gotten pretty good. The only thing is I can't figure out how to make lines smooth, like i know I can put a blending effect on it, but its never as crisp as some of the other works on this site. I always save it on the top quality, so I know its not that.

Is there some sort of way of doing this? thanks.

What tool are you using to draw your lines? Are you filling a selection or using the pen tool or a brush? Your best bet is to use the pen tool.

yeah, I use the pen tool, but it still comes out so shakey, is there a way to make like, a really smooth curve?

i dunno if you know what i mean, but doing it by hand always makes the lines really shakey

Try this, make a new document 500 x 500 at 300 dpi. Hit ctrl+' this will make a grid on the screen. Take the pen tool and make one point at the top left of the screen and one on the bottom right one. Now hold down the pen tool icon and select convert point tool click and drag the bottom point untill you get a nice curve. Next go to Window > Paths so your paths window comes up. Now select your brush tool and make it a default 5 px brush. and hit the stroke path button on the bottom of the paths window. Now you have a very smooth line. I think what you were doing was not selecting the brush tool to stroke the path. need any more help AIM me at Flyguywee15
