is this possible? the thing i want to do is get rid of the deadzone at the bottom of the taskbar (portrayed here: http://min.workingsouls.com/misc/dead.png - the red bottom bit). i know some msstyle skins have it changed so that deadzone is gone, but i'd rather not use them, since i like the old clunky grey look. there seems to be a Windows Classic.theme, but no msstyle to edit... can i do a resource hack or acquire an existing msstyle that looks exactly like the classic theme and edit so the taskbar buttons work to the very bottom? thanks.

In WinXP, clicking on the edge of the taskbar is supposed to shift the cursor away from the edge to the closest function (a quick hack-fix I guess). If yours isn't doing that then something is wrong, because why else would you call it a deadzone if clicks don't register there?
hmm.. i just noticed that the cursor DOES shift NEAR the closest function, but not to the point where clicking again actually presses it... resizing doesn't work, either... and 3dcc seems to only edit the colors, not size values...
XP has some bugs with the taskbar .. what worked for me was to open the startmenu properties and apply and ok something .. usually resizes back to the normal looking state
