Thanks again to my awesome team mates Bin, Taabish & Leon.. you guys rock. Thanks also to the users of custo who appreciate the time and effort put forth into this release. Love the comments..

Due to my busy schedule and the amount of submissions coming through to the site, I am not always able to feature some of your loves/likes or other things you think are feature worthy. If you see something worthy, please send me a PM.

Try to find 3 subs, new or old and I will try to feature it, if it shows effort, is not quickly produced, and the artist has potential for growth or has produced great things in the past.

Thanks

Staying Creative

I love to learn new things and one of the new hobbies I've picked up is programming. I've been dabbling in the realm of vb.net & c#. With the help of a long time friend, I've developed a few applications, each will eventually be release either on my portfolio site www.ok3.org or on www.visionleague.net as (Freeware).

These apps are primarily for adding extras to screenshots at this point. The one being released today 9/1/07 is Called "Real Simple Viewer" or "RSV" for short. Basically folks its a minimal image viewer and all it does is display an image on the desktop for screenshots.

You can download it at www.ok3.org and get support for it in the visionleague.net forums. Keep in mind that this is beta!

Stay tuned for "Sparq"

Where..

Where are all the wallpaper makers & skinners going?
I'd like to see more people develop their skills, and do more creative designing. I enjoy some, screenshots (now) just as much as the next guy, but currently it's 10 screenshots, to 1 "good" wall or skin. Those are not so nice odds.

I remember back in the day, when seeing a wicked wall or skin would entice me, and made me want to learn how to create just like the author. Now, no one really does that, no one is getting inspired anymore to truly create!. Why?!

Spare time

For me, vectoring is quite fulfilling. Even though I enjoy skinning, its not really as meaningful for me anymore as opposed to finalizing a vectored wallpaper. I'm glad I decided to start back again.. I seriously doubt I will create another skin after my last 2 releases are submitted because in the words of the great B.B. King, "The thrill is gone.."

My next challenge is C# & some web programming. Although I don't want to move away from the graphic design scene forever, I do want to gain a strong foothold in the coding scene. It's my calling!

What a loooooooooooooooong road trip that was. We went to North Carolina over the Mother's Day weekend and I've come to the conclusion that 14 hour long road trips are no fun. I'll never do it again it's all about flying next time! :)

Random thought

I'm not sure what's really going in the minds of some people but It's become increasingly hard to traverse the digg pages without seeing a racist comment or some other insensitive remark made in the gist of what the poster and his audience would consider as light hearted humor.

Grant it some of the comments stem from sheer ignorance but it's hard to ignore. The latest of many is http://www.digg.com/celebrity/What_if_Harry_Potter_was_a_black_kid

an innocent story, soured by unsavory comments.

And then there is this one.

Artbell's new year's predictions

So It's 2007, six years until the so called end of the world predicted by guests on Art Bell's / George Noory's nationally syndicated radio talk show "Coast to Coast AM". The show borders around the subject matter of what "normal" people would consider strange or odd.

Having an open mind allows me to enjoy the wild topics. I can't say that I believe every thing I hear while listening, but at times I do find myself saying .."What if this is true?!" .. You can check out the website @ http://www.coasttocoastam.com
