Where are all the wallpaper makers & skinners going? I'd like to see more people develop their skills, and do more creative designing. I enjoy some, screenshots (now) just as much as the next guy, but currently it's 10 screenshots, to 1 "good" wall or skin. Those are not so nice odds.
I remember back in the day, when seeing a wicked wall or skin would entice me, and made me want to learn how to create just like the author. Now, no one really does that, no one is getting inspired anymore to truly create!. Why?!
well, some people say crappy comments that hurt a guy/girl instead of telling them what is wrong in a nice way. trust me, i am with you and agree with the excess of screenshots
i think that it might even be 15-20 to the one good wall or skin.i wish of the ones that are here would make more vs and not just use them for a screenshot and say [nfr] kinda sucks but hey they made it,and they can do whatever they want with it. i just wish......as far as walls their are some really good wallpaper guys over at DA, like venom[my personal favorite] and manicho..who i wish were here.someday maybe..who knows.We just need more people here to get involved [including myself]
All the skinners and wallpaper makers get fed up with all the crap that's being subbed and give up and leave. Because sticking it out to sub something great and have it overlooked because of the sheer amount of (crappy) subs just sucks.
I myself have no graphical talent, so I cannot speak for wallpaper making. But as for skins, I personally get no more than one or two persons wanting me to release mine. So I don't feel like anyone would care/use them if I did. And that's my personal reason for only subbing screen shots.
I had zero graphical as well. I just kept at it, learned as much as I could with the resources at hand and now I'm giving back to the community. Perseverance pays off, so don't get discouraged by the crap comments you may receive.
But If you make something and want to share, then share it. If people love it, then they will download it and occasionally leave a comment out of being courteous.
